Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium Edition 12

29 november 2023 - By DFF

We congratulate Mohamed Benchellal, recipient of the Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium Edition 12!

Mohamed Benchellal receives the Mode Stipendium for his designs that combine sculptural beauty with technical ingenuity. And because, as the standard-bearer of Dutch contemporary fashion, he has put himself on the international couture map in just a decade, entirely on his own strength and with unflappable ambition.

The Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium was celebrated on Wednesday November 29th 2023 at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and could also be viewed online with a live stream on the website of the Dutch Fashion Foundation.

Now Mohamed Benchellal’s work can also be viewed in the Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium Virtual Gallery. In this specially designed Digital Gallery of Honour with fashion art, the work of the designers who have received the Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium over the past 12 years is highlighted in an innovative way. The Digital Gallery of Honour is accessible to everyone, even those who have no experience with digital fashion and the metaverse.

The Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium was established by a private patron and Het Cultuurfonds in 2011 and is the biggest grant made available to individual fashion designers in The Netherlands.
